How much do individual choices weigh on sustainability goals?
What does 1 kg of CO2 mean in our
everyday lives?
What does it correspond to?
Almost everyone knows we need to cut energy consumption, but few know that
most of the energy consumed in the world
is not the electricity we use at home to run our appliances
or the fuel burnt in our car engines, but the energy embodied in the goods
and services we consume every day …
why ResConDA
Resconda was founded to answer these and other questions about our lifestyle, so that everyone can choose, knowingly, how and how much to change it.
To limit humanity's impact on the ecosystem we have to reduce our energy consumption. To do that, we need to know the energy cost of each of our choices, just as we weigh what we can afford when we buy something.
we started counting
We are a group of people who know that solutions are unlikely to come from above. People who, like many of us, have asked themselves what needs to be done, and what is worth doing, about the environmental emergency;
and who have had the chance to take a closer look at the tangle of issues called sustainability, coming away convinced that quantifying things is the only way to bring order to it and to make everyday choices that are truly informed.
That is why our work focuses on the numbers of sustainability, promoting education and training on the quantitative side of the environmental impact of our most common consumption habits.
who we are
Resconda came out of the meeting of different people with two things in common: awareness and love.
Awareness that protecting the environment is today as necessary as it is enormous a task.
Love for reality. The reality of numbers and of cause and effect. The reality of the physical laws of nature that govern and determine every phenomenon, human ones included, and that economics, politics, morality and other superstructures all too often tend to ignore.
Resconda is the product of an awareness of the environmental challenge: we believe that the knowledge needed to face it must be made available to everyone.
Resconda's Board of Directors currently consists of Marcello Corongiu (President), Paolo Marchetti (Secretary) and Stefano Serra (Director).
It's time to get down to the reality of things: workable solutions, the numbers at stake, priorities, informed choices.
Our short-term goal:
to share clear information and build practical tools that make it possible, in real time,
to make purchasing and lifestyle choices that are truly sustainable.
